Power reduction of Long Range Electric Motorcycle

1. Solutions to battery performance degradation

Battery health management: Real-time monitoring of cell voltage balance (single cell voltage difference ≤ 50mV) through the BMS system, regular full charge calibration (complete charge and discharge every 20 cycles) to alleviate the problem of inconsistent cell attenuation. If the capacity attenuation exceeds 20%, the aged cell or the entire battery pack can be replaced, and models that support modular replacement (such as detachable battery packs) can be selected to reduce maintenance costs.

Optimize charging strategy: Avoid frequent fast charging (control the proportion of DC fast charging below 30%), wait for the battery temperature to drop below 40°C before charging after a long ride to reduce the damage of high temperature to the electrode material. Charge to 90% daily (full charging will accelerate the lattice distortion of the positive electrode material), and enable the battery preheating function in low temperature environments (heat to 25-30°C before charging).

2. Motor and transmission system performance maintenance

High power electric motorcycle

Motor efficiency repair: regularly clean the iron filings on the surface of the motor rotor magnet (using non-magnetic tools), check whether the stator winding insulation layer is aged (insulation resistance should be > 50MΩ), if the efficiency drops, reapply thermal grease (thickness ≤ 0.2mm) to improve heat dissipation. For hub motors, check the bearing clearance (axial play ≤ 0.1mm), and replace the oil-containing bearing in time if worn.

Transmission system maintenance: For chain-driven models, apply special chain oil every 500 kilometers (avoid using engine oil to cause carbon deposits), and adjust the tension to a vertical position of 15-20mm; for belt drive, check the degree of belt wear (replace when the crack depth on the tooth surface is greater than 1mm), and clean foreign objects in the pulley groove to prevent slipping and power loss.

3. Riding and load optimization strategy

Load and energy consumption control: avoid overloading (exceeding the rated load by more than 15% will increase the copper loss of the motor), reduce sudden acceleration during long-distance riding (control the current peak within 1.5 times the rated value), use the kinetic energy recovery system (set to strong recovery mode) to replenish power, and reduce the continuous high-load operation time of the motor.

Adjustment of road conditions and driving habits: adopt the "slow acceleration + constant speed" strategy when climbing a slope (the speed is controlled at 5000-6000rpm), maintain an economical speed when driving at high speed (60-80km/h, at this time the motor efficiency is >85%), and avoid long-term full throttle operation causing magnetic steel demagnetization.

Regular system inspection: Use professional equipment to inspect motor efficiency (efficiency should be ≥80% at rated power) and battery internal resistance (maintenance is required when the increase in internal resistance of the whole group is >30%) every 10,000 kilometers to promptly detect hidden dangers of power attenuation.
